Duties & responsibilities: Coordinating all engineering, design and procurement resources and assigning and allocating resources to pertinent projects . Participating in the recruitment of engineering resources Participating in strategic planning and the Engineering Leadership Team Coordinating the preparation of studies and reports Reviewing proposals, studies, estimates, and technical reports prior to issuance Overseeing engineering deliverables for quality, procedures and consistency Managing engineering productivity and budgets Coordinating the management of engineering sub-consultants Reviewing and supporting the development of manuals, procedures, instructions, and forms Promoting a common understanding and commitment to engineering and project objectives Promoting safety awareness within all projects Coaching and mentoring direct reports Presenting periodic lunch and learn sessions for engineering staff on relevant and timely engineering issues Establishing good working relationships and communication with area leads, department managers, and clients Qualifications, Abilities and Aptitudes: Undergraduate or Graduate Degree in Engineering from a recognized university 15+ years of proven engineering experience in mining and metallurgical or similar heavy industrial projects Expertise to register as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in the Province of BC is minimum experience in the execution of large industrial EPCM projects Proven leadership and personnel management expertise Expertise to mentor senior level engineers and designers and provide technical leadership Strong interpersonal and communication abilities A willingness and expertise to relocate on a permanent basis to Trail, British Columbia NOTE: Relocation benefits will be provided if required.
